Isle Ewe 18' Eilean Geisgeir                                                    (Nominated  Best Traditional New Build 2019 Classic Boat Magazine)

Recently completed in the Isle Ewe Boat shed is the New 18ft long traditionally built clinker planked launch designed by us here at Isle Ewe Boats. It's was comissioned by a customer who lived on the isle of Tiree and is being usedto venture out rod fishing. In the design spec, the boat had to have two heavy bilge keels and stainless steel strapping attached with a towing point on the forefoot for hauling the boat out of the water when the weather is poor, as Tiree in a fairly exposed island. The backbone of the boat is built mainly of Opepe with a curved Oak transom. It will be planked with Larch, copper fastening to Oak framing all done using traditional boatbuilding techniques.
